Overwhelming thoughts often sneak up on us when we’re least prepared or able to handle them.
This happens because the subconscious mind runs old belief programs that our conscious mind may have dismissed. Often, it only takes a few triggers or minor events for these small worries to spiral into a whirlwind of anxiety—like tornadoes of swirling, impending doom that feel threatening to our very existence.
This isn’t to diminish real-life challenges, but when the mind is in overwhelm, it struggles to distinguish emotions from facts, or prioritize effectively.
We tend to give alarming thoughts more attention, as if fearing them somehow makes them true, which only strengthens their grip on us.
